"Breaking the Silence" is a discussion around the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls, as well as the women whose lives were stolen as they migrated from Central America to the United States. Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn about local government efforts combating gender-based violence in San Francisco. Benefits will aid The Women's Building's advocacy efforts. Since it ignited on Wednesday, October 23rd, the Kincade Fire has burned through nearly 80,000 acres, destroying 374 structures, including 174 homes. Another 60 structures were damaged, 35 of which were homes. Despite being nearly 82% contained, there are still ways that you can help those impacted. Find out how, here.
For those impacted by SoCal fires or interested in lending a hand, the Red Cross and Caring Choices are currently assessing how community volunteers can best support those in need. You can also donate directly to the Los Angeles Fire Department and support the brave men and women who have been tirelessly battling the flames.
